In today’s society animals are sometimes being treated better than humans are. One of the latest ways people have created to pamper their pets are pet beds. These beds come in many forms many forms and for many animals. The most popular form of pet beds is dog beds. Dog beds are very popular among pet owners. In most cases the people who spend a great deal of money on a bed for their dog are those who could be considered upper class. Other people may possibly make their dog beds.
Dog beds take many forms. Traditionally dogs were given a box with a blanket, if they were permitted to stay inside the house. In most cases the dog was placed outside in the yard in a doghouse, which once again had a blanket. The box and the blanket was the easiest and simplest form that a dog bed could take. As years went on and people became more and more aware of animal rights and what classified as animal abuse, they began treating their pets better and tried to find more comfortable places for their dogs to sleep. People exchanged boxes and blankets for pillows. People either made or purchased oversized pillows for their dogs to sleep on. At first the pillows were thin and not really fancy. There were made out of whatever materials were available. Today however, people are willing to spend hundreds of dollars for a large pillow for their dog.
These pillows or dog beds can be purchased at most pet supply stores or in pet stores in general. You may also find some form of dog bed at the vets office. If you live in certain parts of the United States there are people who specialize in making dog beds. These designers of dog beds make them in a variety of shapes and sizes. They are made out of variety of materials. For example you could have dog beds that are made out of silk or you could have bed made from a more simple material such as flannel.
You can also find dog beds online at some dog supply stores. Here you will be able to browse through the selection of dog beds that are available. The prices of the dog beds will vary depending on make and size and of course material. There may be an additional cost for shipping and handling when you order your dog beds online.

My dog has seizures but can't take meds for it because he's allergic to alot of things. He has one seizure per month on the average its worst when weather changes. I am trying to find him a dog bed that provide the protection he needs and also to make sure when does have an accident from his seizures that its easily to clean. I have had cloth beds before that are washable but the strong urine scent was always stuck into the fabric.
If he is not a chewer, I recommend getting a cheap human baby bed mattress – I did this for a Rottweiler which had seizures and defecated & urinated while having them, also. It worked out great. I bought 2-3 fitted sheets, which I could wash easily, and the waterproof mattress I would just wipe down.

We have one of those big round dog beds, but it doesn't have a zipper or velcro with which to remove the cover for washing. I don't have any sewing supplies, or I'd sew one on. I'm not going to be able to get a sewing kit or anything for a while, so what would you guys suggest for home laundering?
Here is my best picture of the bed:
I'd take it to a laundromat with front loader washers. I'm sure it will wash just fine but probably wouldn't fit too well into a top-loader. Then go to your local thrift store and buy a few cheap washable blankets to put on top–and any blanket from a thrift store is likely to be something you can toss in a washer, even if it's wool. I see the cats appreciate the bed too.
I have always had difficulty finding a a bed for my dog, that he finds comfortable. I came across this orthopaedic bed below which has foam in it:

The bed is really good for a dogs posture as well, and features an eyelet at each end, which allows airflow through the dog bed, ensuring it does not get sweaty and stinky!
Has anyone else come across similar or better dog beds? Designed to help a dogs posture?
How much are you being paid to spread SPAM???
I don't ask my beasts anything;they can't talk *&* they take what they're given.
*&*….dogs DON'T sweat! lmao

Anyone have one of these? Recommendations? I keep my house air conditioned but my dog is a consta-panter, always panting no matter how cool it is, so I'm worried I'm not keeping her cool enough…
Some dogs, especially the flat faced dogs like pugs, almost have to pant in order to breathe normally because they can't get enough air in and out of their nose. If you are comfortable in your air conditioned house your dog should also be comfortable.
