Hi,
I am getting a dog (YAY! my mom let me!!) in may, after the new baby is born.
I will train him,and love him,and play games with him.
I really dont know what games that are F-U-N for a 8-16 week old puppy. He will be a sheltie,or a border collie.
anyways,They need to be fun.
We have a 4.2 accore yard and it is HUGE! now with the front yard,7.9 accore!
its big,I would love to run with him.
Does anyone know about the hip problem with any of these dogs.
I know that borders dont.If the sheltie does, bye sheltie!
what dog has the hip problem, and what are some fun PUPPY games?
OH! soccer is a great one.
Thanks.
best so far!
(BTW: not trying the peanut butter)

some fun games are:
tug – a – war
Frisbee
kick a soccer ball around
ect.
get a tennis ball and play fetch
get a rope and play tug-a-war
frisbee
since he is a puppy he will love to chew so a really big rawhide bone would be good cuz you can play fetch with it and then he can sit down and chew on it
Both the sheltie and the border collie, are very active dogs, they need jobs to do, and are easily bored .some good games are frisbee, tug-of-war, you could possibly do some agility, tag, and maybe swimming or just playing in the water hose/sprinkler)
If you type in dog games in the search box, there are several posts with a lot of games for dogs. There are some really good suggestions.
Also, look at attached links to see characteristics (including health concerns) associated with shelties and border collies.
Good luck with your new puppy!!
Get an old sock and put a ball in it and tie the top pretty weird holding an old sock though but Dogs love it. Try a pet shop and and see if they have a ball on this stick you can through the ball way further that with your hand gives your dog more exercise. My dog loves playing football she is amazing at headers =) Another good one if your dog likes being chased is to throw the ball and then chase your dog and chances are that instead of bringing it back to you she or he will carry on running for you to chase her.
Get a light plastic ball about the size of soccer ball and throw it face on to him/her and she will learn to bounce it back to you without it hitting the ground, also hit a tennis ball with a racket and let him fetch it,teach it to chase flies then wave your hands around and yell “flies” he will go bananas lol,I’m referring to Border Collies they are the best I’ve had.I taught mine to hide under the bed when I yelled “the cops are coming” lol
well puppies love to play get a smaller toy my dog likes the stuffed toys more than the rubber toys they also like to run around so to get them hyper get in front of them and talk in the funny baby talk and jump around them and they will jump then run and the dog will most likely will run and follow u!! play tug a-war . my dog is learning how to play hid and seek she is learning fast so u can teach your dog how to play hide and seek but
HAVE FUN WITH YOUR NEW DOG AND GIVE DA BO BO A KISS ON THE HEAD FOR ME (BO BO IS THE DOG)
